As we enter 2021 still facing Covid-19 restrictions it is worth remembering that we entered the last decade still reeling from the financial crash of 2008. As governments scurried to rescue financial institution deemed too big to fail, millions of people faced real hardship. Yet the last decade was marked by pioneering technologies that have transformed our lives.
Advances in AV technologies have progressed at enormous pace, bringing the immersive experience to private cinema, games, live entertainment and conferencing. Many of these sophisticated solutions now serve a wider purpose. Virtual meetings, conferences and workshops allow businesses to function despite restrictions on travel.
The overall winner in the race for solutions to modern problems, must surely be the environment. If the last 10 years have taught us anything, it is clear we must reset our relationship with the natural world. If human ingenuity can deliver driverless cars, renewable energy, AI and gene editing, then surely these innovators can also deliver a greener, leaner and cleaner world.
