ROOM ACOUSTICS
Advanced Sound Testing for Superyachts
Qualtron offers sophisticated acoustic analysis for superyachts, focusing on two core elements: acoustic performance and sound transmission loss. Our services include a thorough analysis of sound transmission and crosstalk between rooms, examining how installed audio systems affect neighbouring spaces. We provide a detailed digital measurement protocol, including FFT diagrams to visually represent the results, along with tailored recommendations for optimizing acoustic performance.
Room Acoustics Expertise
Working alongside integrators in the residential, commercial, marine, and hospitality sectors, Qualtron specializes in creating ideal sound environments for private home cinemas and light commercial screening rooms. Our role is strictly B2B, collaborating directly with integrators to enhance acoustic quality without replacing their expertise. We do not contract with end clients, ensuring that we respect and support the integrator’s role in each project.
Advanced Sound Testing for Superyachts
- Resonance: Low-frequency sounds have very long wavelengths, sometimes up to 20 meters in home cinema spaces. As these waves interact with room boundaries, they reflect back upon themselves, creating resonance—a buildup of sound energy that leads to noticeable acoustic artifacts.
- Reverberation: Sound waves often linger in a space as they bounce between boundaries, gradually losing energy but not disappearing immediately. This prolonged presence of sound after the initial source has stopped is known as reverberation, adding warmth but sometimes causing muddiness in the audio experience.
- Reflection: Sound waves travel in straight lines, bouncing off surfaces like a ball bounces off a pool table cushion. This directional bouncing is called reflection and provides crucial spatial cues, helping our auditory system determine the location of sounds and enriching the overall listening experience.
